UNCONVENTIONAL VISIONS
Forecasting 2024/25 art trends.
VOGUE SCHOLARSHIP 2024
ÉLISABETH VIGÉE LE BRUN X ANNIE LEIBOVITZ
This project, created for the Vogue Scholarship, forecasts key trends in the art world for 2024/25, exploring unconventional installation approaches, cross-historical exploration, mixed-media showcases, and the empowerment of women artists.
At The Frick Gallery, I proposed a dynamic exhibition featuring the works of Annie Leibovitz and Elisabeth Louise Vigée Le Brun. Both artists have masterfully portrayed influential women from different eras—Leibovitz through contemporary photography and Vigée Le Brun through 18th-century painting. By displaying their works together, we highlight the timeless allure and resilience of women throughout history.
The project anticipates a resurgence of interest in women artists, recognizing their significant contributions. It also envisions the integration of fashion into traditional art spaces, encouraging interdisciplinary collaborations. Furthermore, it celebrates diversity in portraiture, challenging traditional notions of beauty and femininity.
Traditional gallery spaces are reimagined as dynamic environments that blend past and present, offering immersive and innovative experiences through mixed-media installations. This approach bridges different artistic mediums and historical periods, creating a vibrant and engaging artistic landscape for 2024/25.
